Overview
01 · Problem
A sign manufacturer wanted customers to design products for printing and engraving directly online.
02 · Approach
A configurator adapts to the production method and delivers the technical file.
03 · Result
Order, prepayment, production file, manufacturing and shipping run end to end; the range grew to many product groups.

Family businesses
Ordering and producing personalised products online
Starting point
A family business from sign production wanted private and business customers to design products directly online, for printing and engraving with very different possibilities.
How does a configurator connect online ordering and production?
During the project, an online configurator was built that adapts to each production method: printing with photos and fonts, engraving with the matching options. It runs on mobile without an app, for small and large quantities.
The order directly generates the technical file for production, with prepayment and shipping.

What entrepreneurs can take from this
When the order already is the production file, a range grows without job preparation having to grow with it.
A mechanism, not a promise of results: the effect depends on your starting process.
