Senior AI Engineer / AI Automation (m/f/d)

You have not just experimented with AI applications, but built, operated and improved them over several years? Then we are looking for you. At ivato you take technical responsibility for AI solutions that run every day at owner-managed companies: assistants, automations, knowledge systems.
You help decide how we build, test and operate these solutions, and you share your knowledge with the team.
Your tasks
- Owning architecture and technology decisions for AI workflows and agents, e.g. document processing, lead qualification, knowledge assistants
- Connecting language models production-ready: building and versioning prompts, tool calls and structured outputs cleanly
- Designing and optimising retrieval solutions: document preparation, embeddings, vector search, source references
- Keeping quality, costs and operations in view: evaluations, monitoring, error analysis
- Connecting AI with CRM, ERP and existing systems via interfaces and automation tools
- Leading client projects technically, from the workshop to rollout and training
- Doing code reviews and supporting colleagues professionally
Your profile
- Several years of professional software development experience, including proven work on AI or LLM applications in production
- Very good Python or TypeScript: clean, tested and maintainable code, also when you write it with AI tools
- A deep understanding of how language models work: context windows, tokens, hallucinations, limits and costs
- Experience with APIs, webhooks, databases and automation tools such as n8n, Make or Zapier
- Confident handling of data protection and security: what may go into a model, what may not, and how to implement that technically
- Experience in clarifying requirements with business departments and explaining results clearly
