The core system for more than €3 bn in revenue

Invoicing engine, energy procurement and resource management in one central system.

Comparable calculations shrank from several days to about one to two hours. Because meter readings, procurement prices and contract parameters come together in one place, quotations and invoices are no longer passed back and forth between departments but generated directly from consistent data.

Overview

01 · Problem

Meter readings, energy procurement and contracts made calculations lengthy.

02 · Approach

Billing, energy procurement and resource management were connected centrally.

03 · Result

One central system supports billing, procurement and resource planning; calculations now take only one to two hours.

Digitising heating and cooling calculations

Starting point

With large heating and cooling contracts, meter readings, procurement, price components and forecasts all meet. Manual coordination across systems and departments meant that calculations took several days.

How does software speed up contracting billing?

In a project that grew over several years, a central system for invoice automation, energy procurement and resource management was built. Meter readings and load profiles, procurement terms, price adjustment clauses and contract terms, which used to be reconciled between departments, come together in one place and are available to every calculation in the same version.

The entire contracting business now works on this basis. Invoicing runs automatically, price components are updated according to rules, and comparable calculations for heating and cooling contracts take about one to two hours instead of several days.

What entrepreneurs can take from this

When calculations take days, the lever is rarely the formula but where the data comes from and who has to reconcile it.

A mechanism, not a promise of results: the effect depends on your starting process.

Your question is not here? In the initial conversation we take 30 minutes for your specific topic.

Typically meter readings and load profiles, energy procurement prices, price adjustment clauses, maintenance and operating costs, and contract terms. When this data is held centrally and consistently, a coordination exercise of several days becomes a calculation of one to two hours.

Comparable calculations shrank from several days to about one to two hours. Because meter readings, procurement prices and contract parameters come together in one place, quotations and invoices are no longer passed back and forth between departments but generated directly from consistent data.

The principle yes, the implementation never one to one. When calculations take days, the lever is rarely the formula but where the data comes from and who has to reconcile it. In the initial conversation we check which part of it has the greatest leverage for you.

Where do your calculations take too long?
