Connecting the legacy system and neighbourhood work
Starting point
A large housing company coordinated more than 20,000 rental units, caretaking, parking spaces and neighbourhoods across many responsibilities. The on-premises core system was important to operations but offered no modern collaboration.
How do you modernise collaboration with an AS/400 in the background?
During the project, a social intranet with a connected extranet and portal was built. An interface makes data from the IBM AS/400 usable in the new working context.
Employees share information and coordinate administration centrally while the core system keeps running.

What entrepreneurs can take from this
A proven core system does not have to be replaced to collaborate in a modern way. A good interface is often enough.
A mechanism, not a promise of results: the effect depends on your starting process.
